In 2018, Northgate’s Principal Geologist Maile Smith took part in two volunteer delegations as part of the TechWomen program, traveling to both Nigeria and Malaysia. In 2019, as Northgate continues our social responsibility and commitment to mentoring women in science, Maile is headed to Uzbekistan. The purpose of the delegation trips is to engage and encourage women to consider a career path in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In our commitment to preserving parks, wetlands, and open space, Northgate is pleased to support the Angel Island Conservancy, a partner of Angel Island State Park, at their Angel Lights event. The Angel Island Conservancy raises funds and develops public outreach programs, including a scholarship program for underserved students. Funds raised will be used to give students the opportunity to visit this local treasure, and learn about the history and habitat of the island.
