Northgate Presents at State of the Estuary Conference
Northgate is proud to have once again presented at the State of the Estuary Conference. The State of the Estuary Conference focuses on the management and ecological health of the San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary and showcases the latest information about the estuary’s changing watersheds, impacts from major stressors, recovery programs for species and habitats, and emerging challenges. #TechWomen16 at Northgate
Time flies when you’re having fun! There are only three more days of the professional mentorship component of the 2016 TechWomen program that began on September 19 at 37 host companies across the San Francisco Bay Area. Northgate has been a proud participant since the first year of the program in 2011, and has hosted TechWomen Emerging Leaders (ELs) from Morocco, Sierra Leone, Tunisia, and South Africa. Northgate Celebrates Earth Day 2015
This past weekend, Northgate celebrated Earth Day by lending a hand at projects around Oakland. One group helped the Sierra Club Tree Team put 21 trees in the ground at the Learning Without Limits School at 40th Avenue and Carrington Street. Check out the great photos.

Northgate Launches Community Initiative
On March 29th, Northgate will launch the Intersection for the Environment initiative with a fundraising party to support organizations working within Oakland to revitalize and strengthen the city through community gardening. The Bay Area is currently at the forefront of a new urban agriculture revolution. Urban agriculture can provide environmental services, job opportunities, green space, and education opportunities. Urban gardens increase biodiversity and encourage environmental stewardship, and vegetation helps filter and slow storm water run-off. Oakland Global Air Quality Web Portal Launched
West Oakland residents who are concerned about how the construction of the Oakland Global Trade and Logistics Center might affect air quality now have an innovative new tool: the Oakland Global Air Quality Web Portal. Instead of working through public records requests or trying to make sense of large, complex data tables, the public can quickly access user-friendly charts and graphs from the portal. The public can also directly participate in the monitoring program through an interactive commenting feature.
