Northgate Receives 2019 Contractor Safety Award

This fall, Northgate Principal Geologist Joni Fisher participated in the 2019 Annual Contractor Safety Forum at the Southern California Edison (SCE) office in Rosemead, California. The event was hosted by the Environmental Services Department.  During each annual forum, the meeting culminates with SCE providing an award to one contractor for outstanding safety performance for that year. Northgate Geologist Dana Brown Receives Scouting Program’s District Award of Merit

Northgate Geologist Dana Brown was recently awarded The District Award of Merit, the highest award the Long Beach Area Council can give to an adult volunteer in the Scouting program. Having been a Cub, Boy, and Explorer Scout from kindergarten to age 18, as an adult Dana recognized the opportunity to “pay back” the Scouting program as a volunteer. Since 2011, he has served as Unit Commissioner and District Commissioner, and is currently the Dean of the Commissioner College. In 2014, Dana achieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Commissioner Science and was awarded the Commissioner’s Key award for service to his unit. Mobile GIS Application Wins National Association of Counties 2014 Achievement Award

The Mobile GIS Canvassing App has been selected as the National Association of Counties 2014 Achievement Award Winner in the Information Technology category. This award-winning application, developed by the Northgate/Psomas team with the Alameda County Information Technology Department (ITD), serves the 40 appraisers from the Alameda County Assessor’s Office who routinely visit properties to determine assessed property values. This new tool, built on the County’s Enterprise ArcGIS ESRI platform and deployed on tablets and handhelds, is a mobile GIS web application that provides real-time information about properties and the ability to update records on-site.
