Northgate is pleased to announce a new Associate, Charlie Almestad, PG, CHg, who brings with him over 30 years of broad experience in the environmental field. Charlie consults as a trusted advisor for clients and their legal counsel and is active as a client account manager. Charlie has significant project experience in remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial action planning and implementation, environmental monitoring programs, environmental site assessments, water resources, forensic investigations, environmental compliance planning and assessment, and waste water and solid waste projects. Northgate’s Maile Smith Co-Authors Paper on Sustainable Remediation and Reuse

Maile Smith, Associate Geologist with Northgate, is a co-author of a paper entitled “Integrating Remediation and Reuse to Achieve Whole-System Sustainability Benefits,” published in the Spring 2013 issue of Remediation Journal. The paper examines the relationship between site remediation and reuse, and ways that the two processes can be integrated to reduce long-term costs and environmental impacts. Maile collaborated on the paper with members of the Sustainable Remediation Forum (SURF), a nonprofit organization working to incorporate sustainability concepts throughout the remedial action process.
